  • 1.  Windows Server 2012 is not showing up in 'Servers' filter

    Hi,

NS 7.1. Has anyone noticed that in the 'Servers' filter that Windows Server 2012 is not showing up? I see Server 2003 and 2008 as would be expected, but no 2012.

Short of creating a new filter is there a way to fix to this in one of the Symantec_CMDB tables?

No.  At this time you'll have to manually create the filters, targets, and reports for Server 2012 and Windows 8.

7.5 brings all of this.  7.1 will be updated a few months after 7.5's release to include the Server 2012 and Windows 8 filters, targets, and reports.

Well, I created a new Windows Server 2012 filter. In fact it was cloned from the Windows 2008 filter. Made a tweak to adjust the filter so it would only include Win 2012 servers. Then one of the Symantec guys showed me a SQL command that unlocks (enable access) the default Windows Servers filter. Once that was done I added in the new Windows Server 2012 filter and then ran a command to lock (enable no access) back up the Windows Servers filter. So I am good to go.

Nice!  Did you call Support and they helped you?

Maybe you could encourage whoever helped you to write a blog or article on Connect on how to modify some of these filters.
