Windows Update is beeing blocked by SEP 11 client

Created: 18 Jan 2008 • Updated: 21 May 2010 | 2 comments
I have SEP 11 running on windows server 2003 SP2 and i have WSUS running on another windows server 2003 SP2.
Client computers are Windows XP Pro SP2. Client computers that have SEP 11 client are not able to recieve windows updates from WSUS server. Actually while client computers is trying to download windows update from WSUS server, windows update icon appears for a second and then disappears. I think SEP 11 client prevent download of windows updates because, client computers that have not SEP 11 client, download windows updates easily and applies it on operating system regularly. I didnt find any error regarding this action in log files .
Has anyone faced such a problem?
Kind regards

Did you install the Network Threat Protection feature and have the default Firewall policy enabled? If so, you will need to customize the policy to allow standard LAN-type operations as not all of them are allowed by default.
