Windows-XP SP3 Security Center does not detect Endpoint Protection 11

Created: 04 Jul 2013 • Updated: 05 Jul 2013 | 6 comments

Hi Guys,

I'm a network tech who just set up a 802.1x network with antivirus check on WIN7/XP clients.

All clients have SEP 11.0 installed, with Windows7 all is working fine but with XP sometimes the Security Center cannot detect the antivirus and I cannot authenticate to the network.

Do you know if there is a procedure to solve this issue?

Thanks for your assistance.

Dario

Just to begin, you've posted this in the Encryption forums, rather than then Endpoint Protection one.

What are you using for the whole client checking?  Are you relying on native windows functionality or are we talking about Symantec Network Access Control here?

Have you tested out the current version of SEP?  The latest is SEP12.1RU3, which was released last month.

What's the exact version of 11.x that you're on?

Please click the "Mark as solution" link at bottom left on the post that best answers your question. This will benefit admins looking for a solution to the same problem.

As per my earlier post, I'd recommend testing with teh current version of SEP instead.

Just an FYI, your version of SEP is not even supported with Win7SP1, and really should be upgraded:

Ops I'm sorry I didn't meant to open a thread in the wrong forum... can I modify it?

Actually I'm relying on native windows functionality.

I'll try to update and test it again asap, I'll update you if I have news.

Thank you!

You should be able to edit the thread (top left) and change the product drop-down/checkbox, to change the forum its posted to (I think blush)
