This issue has been solved. See solution.

So I have come accross an odd error when I boot into WinPE 2.1 from PXE.  The error is "Could not authenticate network connection".  I've searched through all the Google search results and tried every solution there but still receive this error.  This happens on any machine I boot to WinPE, weather it be virtual, desktop, or laptop.  This was working not more than 3 months ago, then I was layed off, came back and now does not work.  Any ideas as to what could be wrong would be greatly appreciated and if you need any more info, just let me know.

Thanks,
Noah

Account

Was anything done with the service account being used to map the drive?  I would ensure that the account is not disabled, locked out or the password wasn't changed.

Re: Account

The service account was not locked out, but I did manage to get it to work.  I ended up having to add an entry to the LMHOST file within the WinPE boot image.  According to our network guy, nothing has changed on the network, but now NetBios name resolution is not functioning within any of our preboot enviroments.
