    NS7.x with DS7.1 (CMS suite).

I have a few new elitebook 8440s and am trying to image them with no luck.  PXE seems like it does not have the NIC drivers, however I have recently (few hours ago) added the NIC drivers via bootwiz.

I can see them in the CUSTOM folder yet It is still not working.  (I also noticed that in the std folder there was already a folder for the e1k6032 so I am not sure why it didn't work from the start.)

    What doesn't work?  What error?

It finally worked, I think it just took the NS server a bit to re-create the PXE env.  (seemed like roughly 6 hours).

I am now getting it where deployanywhere errors out and in the PECTAGENT.log file it shows:

Deployanywhere failed, please see deployanywhere.txt in task server for more details.  Value=0 error=183.

Looking at this excel file of error codes for altiris, error 183 shows:

183 Cannot create a file when that file already exists. ERROR_ALREADY_EXISTS

which makes no sense at all!

I am wondering if it has to do with not having the storage driver added to bootwiz yet, so I am trying that right now...

Please examine the DeployAnyWhere.txt on task server.

Have you examined the contents of this .txt?

Is it on the imaged PC?  I haven't done much tinkering with DeployAnywhere.

I checked in the logs area, but it doesn't look to be on the client either :/

I am opening a case right now, though it looks Symantec's phone system is having hiccups as its SUPER static-y right now.

I added the drivers recently to the deployanywhere driversDB (there is a KB article about doing that using the ghost boot wizard app). and made sure that the winPE image has both the storage and nic drivers.

I was thinking that it could be because winPE didn't have the storage drivers, but if rdeploy can copy to the drive without any issues, I don't see why the deployanywhere process wouldn't be able to access it at all either.

(Note that deployanywhere runs fine up to a point)

    Hi,

your imaging process is now functioning correctly?

The DeployAnyWhere error belongs to an issue with a driver. The Log-File is located on your taskserver in \\server\deployment\Task Handler\ghost. The logfile is NOT named deployanywhere.txt! There is a file named like dplyaw.txt. Have a look for this file. In many cases the deployanywhere failes because of a missing wlan-driver.

    Regards

    md investigate got it right!

I had a case open with Symantec about this and they also helped me resolve the issue.

The exact file name on my setup was:  ghDplyAw32.txt

    located at: C:\Program Files\Altiris\Altiris Agent\Agents\Deployment\Task Handler\Ghost\

    hope this helps others!

Removing logs in case there were Keys / NS names / etc that I missed when scrubbing them.
