WinPE 2.1 stuck as Novell Netware

I work at a district health department here in Bowling Green, Kentucky. We are using the server deployment solution version 6.9 with SP1. We recently installed WinPE 2.1 using the new WAIK kit (version 1.1) to get compliant with Vista, but are having a few issues. The PXE configuration utility still only shows WinPE 2005 installed and not 2.1. If you select "Add Pre-Boot", however, it says that WinPE 2.1 is installed. That's just odd. The real problem lies in the fact that the Boot Disk Creator has the File Server Type for the 2.1 installation as Novell Netware (VLM). I have gone through editing the configuration for the install numerous times but cannot find a way to change the File Server Type. Have even deleted the configuration and created a whole new one, but it is still sticking at Novell Netware. The old installation (WinPE 2005) is just fine and has Windows as the File Server Type. Tried to install 2.1 with the Altiris installer, but it kept throwing an error at me, and the WAIK kit installed it successfully. Any ideas?

Same here...

This topic is old but I’ve got the exact same problem. I installed PE 2.1 from a pack (Altiris_DS_Preboot_WinPE_2.1_x86.exe) under DS6.9SP2 & it went on like glue. Everything works but I’m stuck with Novell Networks type of configuration where I need to specify path to DS share as ‘DS\VOL1:share’ instead of traditional UNC & the transfer protocol reads IPX on the general description. Needless to say I never get the DS share open.

Edit: I just found out this is a larger issue & has to do with the Boot Disk Creator itself. I cannot do a new configuration on the older WinPE 1.6 platform either which worked fine before (in DS 6.8 SP2). It seems until resolved I am totally unable to create new boot images altogether...

Edit2: Using Boot Disk Creator and selecting preboot OS as MS-DOS or Free DOS the option is given by the wizard to use either Windows or Novell network. With any other OS the option is preselected as Novell and I cannot pinpoint the source.
