Not sure why Symantec has not implement this with SP2 or perhaps I would like to know what was the reason they are not upraging WinPE and stuck with WinPE 2.1.

I didn't have issues with 2.1, it works fine until NVIDIA launched Optimus technology for Dell Latitude E6420.

Whenever the computer boots into 2.1, the optimus option is disabled autmatically from BIOS and we've to enable it manually, then INSTALL both the Intel and NVIDIA drivers manually.

Dell recommends to use WinPE 3.0.

I've implemented WinPE 3.1 with DS 7.1 SP2 and its working fine however I am facing an issue with it, when I send the task to reboot into PXE, the PC boots into WinPE and it gives me the option for initial deployment as it takes the PC as an unknown computer, it also resets the name of the computer in WinPE and if I try to push the job using the original name, it fails.

Has anyone tried WinPE 3.0 with DS 7.1? If yes, please share your experiences.

Everything that I've seen, including the current beta, has WinPE 3.1 included with DS 7.2.

Deployment Solution is currently on 7.1 SP1a MR1a.  It's on a separate development timeline and versioning than the rest of CMS.

Last I unofficially heard is that DS 7.2 is delayed until May.  For whatever that's worth.

I'm wondering about the communication about the release of DS 7.2.

Think many peoples are very unhappy with the actually release of DS 7.1 and waiting for 7.2-

Not only the WinPE version ... there are many other things missing.

For me sccm 2012 would become more interesting every day .. 

yeah a real half public roadmap would be nice...

but sccm 2012?? didn't they delay till Q4 2012? ;)
