yes, i had to use vista drivers for some of my older models (optiplex gx520 and 745 to name a few) since win7/8 drivers simply aren't available, even from intel or broadcom. works fine.
for all intents and purposes, winpe4 IS win8, just without a lot of supporting backend like sound, 3d graphics, and plenty of other things. the core kernel is the same. and it's the only version of win8 i like using, since it doesn't have that horrible start screen or metro/newui. ;)
