WinPe dagent change the time on the client
Updated: 27 May 2010 | 8 comments
For some strange reason dagent sets the clock on the client back 9 hours.
I use a boot cd with WinPe 2.1 x86 that connect to the DS (6.9 sp1 b361).
If I enter time at the command prompt on the client, the output is 10:35:12.35. The time on the server is the same.
After dagent (6.9.355 x86) is loaded and has connected to the DS, the time on the client is set to 1:36:27.12. The date is the same. My time zone is GMT+1
I have tried this on 2 new computers (HP 6930p and HP 2530p) and both have this issue.
Does anyone else have this problem and have you got a solution?

Is the clock incorrect when you boot back into your production OS?
Yes. The dagent set the bios clock to 01:36
Strange. I haven't seen that. Let me do some testing here and see what results I get.
Great Anthony. What is your time zone? If your time zone is GMT-8 (Mountain time?) then you wont notice it.
If I stop dagent and use aclient instead (still with WinPe) then I dont have this problem. Is this a bug in dagent?
I'm in Central time. I haven't heard of this being a bug.
I tested this and the time one the client didn't change like you mentioned. I even changed the time on the server and the client synced up with that time.
Thank you Anthony.
I'll do some more testing, but I can't enable debugging on dagent when it's running in console mode. The properties button is disabled.
I guess it has something to do with this:
Altiris KB44784 (updated the link)
