Winpe drivers update issue
We are using Deployment Console 6.9 and I trying to import driver for dell GX760 from boot disk creator windows PE configuration, if I click “have disk” add drivers “E1k5132.inf”, then refresh, it still show same number of device drivers (0/1109)
I tried putting the files in the WinPE folders manually as someone suggested but no luck, I also try mounting option but still the driver list is not updated
I am wondering if anyone know a vbs script or a different way to add new drivers to the list
I will appreciate your help

I've got the correct drivers
If the KB doesn't get you going, send me a message and I'll pass the proper driver files along to you.

winpe driver update
thanks for the replay, I will see how things going with the update....
You didn't say what version
You didn't say what version of PE you are using (unless I missed it), however I had a similar problem with this using WinPE 2.1. The reason I was having an issue with getting the driver to show up is because the driver was for windows xp, whereas for WinPE 2.1, they need to be Vista drivers. Once I used the vista driver, the driver appeared.
Hope this helps.

vista Driver
Hi NuRD,
have you done anything special when you add the vista driver, the thing is I tried every single suggestion posted but I am going in circles and I am getting desperated, I even updated DC to 6.9 spk2 and still can not see the drivers grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
if there is an older driver
if there is an older driver in the winpe build, you will just overwrite the existing one. That would case that number not to go up.

So far I mount the winpe file and updated with the driver and I could see the size to increase, then I refresh boot disk Creator, I also check winpe folder and I could not see any reference to old driver related to the gx760 E1k5132.inf, may I looking in the wrong folder!!!

Not Perfect, but a solution
We had the same problem. I tried absolutely everything to get the driver into Altiris, but it never worked. My solution is not ideal if you have to do it over and over again on systems, but if you're in a bind, you can use this method.
In the Boot disk creator, you can manually add files to the configurations. Add the driver and its accompanying files onto the configuration for the iso. One you get the point in loading Altiris automation where it keeps saying DHCP retry, control-c it to stop. Then make sure you're in the folder that contains the driver on your cd-rom drive. Then type "drvload e1k6032.ing". This manually loads the driver. Then do ipconfig just to make sure it worked right. Occasionally it wouldn't recognize the DHCP server, and would assign a Microsoft defualt 169 ip address to the computer. If that happens, just try it again until it doesn't
Hope that helps.

- Drivers that have been added using the "Have Disk" option in the PXE Configuration wizard can be found in a directory at \\127.0.0.1\eXpress\Deployment Server\Bootwiz\platforms\. Look for a subdirectory within each OS titled "Custom." Sometimes corrupted driver files will cause problems and need to be removed from this location. If you check this location and find there are missing driver files in a driver directory, simply copy the necessary driver files to the correct directory and rebuild your PXE configuration to have these driver files included.
Copying the driver files here manually may be your solution.
