    Hi there

Currently we are testing GSS3 for rollout and retire 2.5. We are coming up with a weird issue regards winpe.

Having followed all the videos and tutorials we come across the "Restarting DHCP client service: retry 1,2....." and so forth.

We thought this was a driver issue and banged our heads to include the driver (218-lm), but heres the thing, when we break the command promp and do an ipconfig, we are getting a dhcp address. We can ping the server, we even gave 'everyone' full access permissions to the eXpress folder thinking that might do it.

Weirdly, when we went to sysprep our test workstation and came to the 'restarting dhcp client servie', after it timed out after 19 attempts it started to take an image????

So im thinking its not the drivers that are the problem, some other setting. I read on here about a wpeutil disablefirewall command, Where would this be entered? on the Server?

    Thanks in advance.

No, the wpeutil disablefirewall command is entered at the WinPE command prompt. If you have a bat or cmd file that autoruns as WinPE starts up then stick it in there.

Noticed we were using 169 addresses. Problem solved.
