Wise Installation Studio
Anyone know where to find information on customizing an install using Wise Installation Studio 7.0? Specifically I am looking for information pertaining to the 'SQL Connection Dialog'. I have added a new field called 'Database Name'.
I am creating an install for a webservice. The web.config file included in the install needs to include the connection string information. I have seen that you can enter dynamic content into the file but I am not able to get the databasename property. By default there is a property for [WISE_SQL_CONN_STR], but this does not include the database name.
The only post on the forums I could find delt with custom actions, but I don't know where to start.
Thanks

Although very similar, but is Wise Installation Studio the same as WPS?
Seems to be two different products, maybe slightly different.
Guess I have to download the trial to find out....:-)
Maybe you can find some information here:

Hi Eric,
Yes, I know. I typed WPS, because Wise Package Studio is commonly known as WPS.
However, he is asking questions about
Wise Installation Studio and not Wise Package Studio.
Now I am wondering what is the difference between the two.
The website link I posted, is the KB as you can see, go to the below link;
http://www.symantec.com/business/wise-installation...
- Support | Supported Products A to Z.
- Scroll Down to Wise Installation Studio (WIS) not (WPS).
- Right windows pane, click Knowledge Base and find WIS in the left column.
Official Wise site or not, one gets there through Symantec and hopefully there will be some answers in the KB.

WIS or WPS
In my opinion Wise installatio nstudio is the smaller version of Wise packaging Studio, and only intended to duild packages for redeployment, where WPS also will enable us to build complete customized installations for repackaging and for own created software.
Who knows may give us the answer.
