Wise Installer asking to reboot everytime

Created: 14 May 2013 | 1 comment

My installer is suppose to copy few files which works fine normally. If one of these files is running (in use), then Wise Installer is automatically asking to reboot.  So far so good.  From this point on, on every upgrade (install) Wise keeps on asking to reboot even if I don't have any files in use.  How do I stop this prompt?

Have you rebooted since the first message was displayed?  In a "file in use" situation, a Reg_Multi_Sz registry key called PendingFileRenameOperations is created with details of file(s) to be replaced at the next reboot.  Wise will be checking for this scenario so any subsequent update applied before the reboot has completed will also ask for a reboot.

If you want to disable the reboot message in your Wisescripts, just add the following as the last line of your script:

Set Variable RESTART equals

(In other words, set it to a blank value)

This is documented in the online help along with other possible settings you can use for this pre-defined variable.
