The question I have is when I setup my databases on SQL2005 the database creation process want to touch the master database on my server. I am in a very locked down environment. What rights are needed when it comes to the process touching master? I need to let my SQL DBA's know before I can go forward with using this product.

Hi Tom.Mutchler

When I did my SQL Server Setup the 'dbo' user by default had the persmissions as shown in the attachment.

Database:Software Manager Database :: User:Dbo, sa :: Permissions:Public, db_Owner

Database:Wise Services Database :: User:Dbo, sa :: Permissions:Public, db_Owner

Database:Workbench Database ::User:Dbo, sa:: Permissions:Public, db_Owner

I had local admin access to the Packaging Snapshot machine. I did a network install so all the program files were living on my packaging server. So without local admin access to my snapshot machine Wise Package Studio would not launch with errors complaining about no access to database.

Not sure if this helps you...

Wise have never released any detailed information on SQL permissions, so when it comes to a question like yours, unless another forum user can volunteer the information from experience, your only other solution is to open a call with Wise support.

Alternatively, since SQL 2005 Express Server can also be used with WPS, and is free to download, why not consider using that instead, and avoiding the lock down hassles with a centralised SQL resource.

If your issue has been solved, please use the "Mark as Solution" link on the most relevant thread.
