I am trying to install Symante Endpoint Protection Small Business 12.1. unmanaged client on top of Windows 2008 Server R2 Enteprise Edition.

At the end of instalation when starting services, the following error is reported:

The Wizard was interrupted before Symantec Endpoint Protection could be completely installed.

The System has not been modified. To complete instalation at another time, please run setup again. (screenshoot attached).

It's a new clean Windows installation.

Checked the machine with sep Support tool, all reported OK (screenshot attached)

Setup is run under an adminsitrator acccount with Run As Administrator, firewall disabled, Windows Defender disabled, etc

Sep_inst.log is attached.

Setup related events from the Application and System event log also attached.

Regards,

Hi,

UAC should be turn off.

If not, make it turn off, reboot system & try to install.

Hello,

You would have to Uninstall the SEP client along with Liveupdate from the Add/Remove Programs.

Here are few Steps to Work and check if that helps!!

- Follow the procedures below and try removing the SEP client again after stopping the SEP services.

1- Open CMD

2 - Type the command lines:

 taskkill /pid smc.exe /f
 taskkill /pid ccSvcHst.exe /f

3 - Wait till the SEP client stops the services and then try uninstalling it.
