    Hi,

    I have installation issue and I tried google all the documents but none of them solve my issue:

    I tried to install EndPoint 11 client on Win7 x64 but it shows up: The wizard was interrupted before Symantec Endpoint Protection could be completely installed.
    During the installation.

    I've tried:

    - Removed PendingFileRenameOperations from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SessionManager or CurrentControlSet00[x]\ --> doesn't work for me

    - launch lusetup.exe before I launch Symantec AntiVirus Win64.msi  --> doesn't work for me

    What else can I try? Very hurry...Thanks,

    Suggestions:

    1) Open the setup file and try to install liveupdate first and then the sep install

    2) If, that does not help, follow the Steps below:

    In the registry,

    Find

    HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders\AppData
    value=%APPDATA%

    and change it to

    HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders\AppData
    value=%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming

    Install SEP client again.

    If above registry value is not as written, please make the changes and after changes, reboot the machine and reinstall client.

    3) Also Try the Article below,

    See - SEP client installation is rolling back with MSI error 1060

    I am sure these would help!!!

    Hi Mithun,

    I tried your three solutions but unfortunately the issue still cannot be solved.

    For 2): The registry value in my machine is originally:   %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming

    For 3) only msxml3.dll & msxml6.dll are successful while registering. My OS is updated to the latest one already. However, it's still failed in the installation.

    Any other ideas?

    Thanks,

    Kaipei

    Which part I should try with my log?

    I didn't see the matched error message in the link you provided.

    Yes; if its there remove it

    remove Liveupdate from add/remove programs

    delate all the liveupdate folders

    check the regiion settings language in OS, its should be english.

    reboot

    Install Liveudpate first then install SEP

    just without any luck...:(

    I've tried:

    1) remove Liveupdate from add/remove programs

    2) delate liveupdate folder in C:\ProgramData\Symantec\

    3) the region/language is English

    4) Reboot

    5) check PendingFileRenameOperations is removed

    6) check HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell\AppData is set to %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming

    7) run lusetup (with admin)

    8) run SEP setup (with admin)

    still shows up the same error message.....:(

    I attached my latest log file

    Any suggestion?

    You are trying with .msi file ; did u try installing .exe file and also as unmanaged client from CD1?

    Hope UAC is disabled on vista machines.

    Mithun Sanghavi's 2nd step worked for me. After hours of frustration, changing the appdata value from %APPDATA% to %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming in the HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders\ key worked. This is on a machine with Vista 32-bit OS.

    THANK YOU!!!

    I am going to go on a limb and say, after all you have been through, Rafeeq may be right.

    Have you Disabled UAC on your Windows 7 machine before trying to install?

    Or, when launching the installer, Right Click and Choose "Run as administrator"?

    It doesn't matter if you are logged in as Administrator (Local or Domain) one of these needs to be done, unless you are using a Windows 2008 ADC and have turned them off with Group Policy.

    Please check and let us know.
