    Hi,

WMI Process WmiPrvSE.exe in showing High CPU Utilization with SEP Client on a Server that is Windows 2012 R2. along with that, SEP Client is showing out of date with Fix Option available but, it doesn't work. CPU Utilization is skyhigh, 90-99 Percent.

Any practical suggestion or solutions. This is the third Server causing the same symptoms.

1- Removing Client and Installing new can help

    2- Applying Manual Updates

But why the CPU goes so high?

    Version 12.1.6 (12.1 RU6 MP3) build 6608

The first thing would be to try the latest version, 12.1.6 MP5. What application is using this process? Do you have any custom apps? Is it constant or only during content updates?

Did you put in the exclusions for an AD server? SEP will add them automatically on install

Hey  Ahmedmughal, your problem might be due to the  unusual behavior of this service not following the patterns it is supposed to. You can follow the steps mentioned in here: https://appuals.com/how-to-fix-wmiprvse-exe-high-cpu-usage-on-windows-10/. Works like a breeze.
