For some strange reason my workflows are not aborting after being inactive for some time. For example, a user would start the workflow but close their window half way through a dialog component but then the process would still be active even after it's past the time out timespan. This wasn't the case when I was using version 7.0 (I think).

I have checked all the possible settings but I may have missed something. I have my "timed out" (set to 1 hr time span) pointing to the Exit and it's allowing for Workflow abortions. Am I missing something? I am using Windows authentication.

Could it be related to what Rob Moore's comment about asmx files?

load your Local Machine Info editor (from the tools directory, or from the Task Tray Tool - right click -> settings) and ensure this box isn't checked:

if it was checked, uncheck it and click OK - then i'd probably restart the workflow services (right-click Task Tray Tool and restart server extensions) and IIS to kick off the engine.

    Nope, that isn't checked.

Sorry friend.  If anything else comes to mind I'll get back to you.  In the meantime, hopefully someone else has some ideas for you.

    Hi,

If your Workflow is working on a separate App Pool like I do, you can manage this on the App Pool properties.

    Regards.
