Can you verify that the

Can you verify that the Ensemble databse that the portal, if on a different box, is hooked up to allow remote connections/is on, etc.?

Verified it, it's OK!

I got tip from KB.
Created a new Ensemble database manually (Altiris KB44116).
Permissions seems to work now. But I can't login into Portal by any user, exept admin@logicbase.
I have no any errors or exeptions on the screen. Is there any log viewer to troubleshot that error?
Any ideas?

Sorry if this is stating the obvious...

...but have you created other users besides admin@logicbase.com?  That is the only default user, and so unless you've created other users in the portal, there will be no other ones there to log in as.  Again sorry if that is stating the obvious, just wanted to make sure to start from square 1.

Otherwise if you have created other users and cannot log in as them, that is odd...I would log in as admin and double-check or reset the passwords of the users you want to log in as, and try again.

It's realy stupid situation

Thaks for your input Chris.
I'm a bit noob in WF, but not a dumb ;)

So, let's list my actions from the beginnig:
1. Installation of NS+SQL (inbox install). It runs on dedicated server.
2. Installation of WF Advanced using step-by-spep guide, listed above. It runs on dedicated server also, but on vmware server 2.0. Enseble DB is on SQL server with NS DBs.
3. Built a workflow, published it. Until then, everything was fine.
4. Added new users and groups - ok!
5. Tried to give a group a permissions to use new workflow - got an error.
6. Beating my brains out trying to solve it. Got a tip to recreate a Ensemble DB. Done it.
7. At last, permissions is ok, but no one can logon, exept default admin.

I was checking and double cheking all permissions and passwords. I was no use.
As a next step, I'll rebuild a WF server from ground zero and see if it solves the issue.

P.S. Have you any best practices to troubleshot errors in WF?

Quick few questions on your

Quick few questions on your configuration for Workflow solution.

  • are you running windows 2003 stad or ent? or server 2008?
  • 32 bit or 64 bit?
  • how many processors?
  • memory?
  • what is your hardware config?
  • SQL on this box or on a dedicated SQL server?

The reason why I ask is we are looking at this product but the documentation on the requirements is pretty vague.

We are a large enterprise environment so sizing the server is obviously important.

Anything else I need to know, please pass along.

Thanks.

Gotcha

Rebuiding of workflow server solved the problem.
As always with Altiris products. %)
Thanks everyone!

I guess rebuilding of

I guess rebuilding of workflow would always resolve the issue.
