Working with WMI in Ghost

I am using Ghost 2.5 and I want to modify the WMI so that I may be able to create a new collected data set and generate a report that produces the name of the target machine, it's MAC address and the version of the application (let us say Adobe Reader's 9.1). I see that there is a default WMI for the Symantec Ghost version, but I am wondering how to create new single application version queries. I have attempted to create new collected data sets with no success.

My knowlege of this is murky, to say the least. Any help would be appreciated.

Regards

WMI

Ghost console provides you the way to configure the WMI class as per your requirement,
I will suggest you to go through this article on WMI which will help you in understanding

https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/articles/s...

You need to enable 'Show collected data set' in the Tools -> Options -> Inventory

Once its visible in the Inventory node you can create new collected data set as per your requirement.

See article I just published to add WMI classes to ghost console

I just published a step-by-step article on how to add new/extra WMI classes.

I added monitor serial numbers to WMI in the clients and wanted them to be available for reports.
www-secure.symantec.com/connect/articles/retrieve-monitor-serial-numbers-ghost-adding-wmi-elements-and-using-inventory

One thing that I found out to make it easier is to add the extra WMI classes to the machine/server that runs your Ghost Console as well as your clients.

Hope this helps..
