Requirements:
Senior Deployment Engineer to package, push out and support Symantec Workspace Virtualization application and application patch updates via Symantec Workspace Streaming and other enterprise deployment tools. This project will include packaging and scripting applications to be distributed to desktops across a large, distributed enterprise environment. In addition to packaging and deploying applications, this role will include tier II / III support of escalated issues, troubleshoot and document failed deployments. The successful individual will be a problem solver engaged in finding solutions to enterprise wide issues and will be required to work with cross functional teams both internally and with outside vendors.
The preferred candidate is experienced in multiple platforms and can complete assigned duties with minimal direction from Management. The candidate will routinely act independently while researching and developing solutions to a new, site wide rollout.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree, applicable certification or equivalent experience required
The successful candidate must have at least 5 years of scripting and packaging experience utilizing Wise Studio (or similar) with software distribution and Installer creation and unit testing background in an enterprise environment
Must be proficient at packaging applications, and familiar with tools like VB Script, MSI, WISE, Power Shell, SCCM, etc.
Strong Technical knowledge of Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows Server 2003, SQL Server, Altiris, MS Office 2003/2007/2010.
Working knowledge of application deployment process and functional network troubleshooting
Previous experience in Altiris SVS, Vmware Thinnap, Microsoft AppV, or equivalent application virtualization and streaming solution a plus.
Softgrid, SCCM, AD and networking certifications preferred but not mandatory
