Deployment Solution

We have rougly 2800 systems and will be growing to over 3000 by end of the year. Current set up is Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2 for DS. The SQL server is Windows 2003 R2 SP2, 4G Ram, 1Gb/s Network, Dual Core Intel Xeon, SQL 2005.

Issue:

When setting up jobs or moving systems within the console we have to wait several minutes for the job to start or the move to take place. Have had it go to a "Not Responding" Status with in one move or one job. waiting for the console to catch up.

You could use Express in small environments, but if you're already seeing "not responding messages" with SQL 2005 Standard or Enterprise, I wouldn't move to Express, since these indicate performance issues that likely have SQL at their root.
