  • 1.  You must convert this to the new report format

      Reports have been upgraded in Notification Server 7.0. Legacy reports will continue to work, however changes cannot be saved. You must convert this to the new report format if you wish to modify its definition.

    That is the message we got from the Symantec Management Platform SMP7 (that is NS7 for Notification Server) when want using a report based NS6 (migrated or imported).

    But if you try to find "how" to "convert": from help, PDF manuals, forums, KB... ??? Except I do not find as ofen (I am not very good in web searching)
    My understanding is, you must copy the SQL & recreate a new NS7 report, paste the SQL, that is the "convert" process, hope not a mass to convert !

    For exemple: I do not find in CMS 7, the reports for:
    - Client Agent Version (all the same when want to import, a warning tell me it is there ? But never find it, to avoid a "destroy", I duplicate the NS6 one, export, and import into ns7)
    - Discovered application (yes, I do not find this Metering tactical group of reports into Inventory 7 !!! So I import the NS6 metering discovered folder, don't know yet if operationnal, but I believe in it !)

    Reports from NS6 typically will not migrate well into SMP7 because of the massive database change.

    For Client Agent Version, click Reports, All Reports, then expand Reports > Notification Server Management > Agent > Agent Version, you should see a report of agent versions.

    For a newly-discovered applications report, you would have to write your own report.  You can do this by right-clicking and choosing New > Report and then using the Query Builder to set your Filter Expressions according to the data classes you want to report against.
