Hi all,

at the moment we see a lot of restore jobs on our master rohkgbckp01 server activity monitor.  As you can see here:

Where does this jobs come from? It's a little bit strange because nobody of the admin guys run any restore jobs. Is it possible that this jobs will generated if someone browse through GRT backups?

Yes, when you browse GRT backups, restore jobs are initiated for GRT operations.

Create bprd log folder on the master and restart services.

You will be able to see the source of restore request in bprd log.

Hi Marianne,

i can only see the following message in the bprd log.

vnet_cached_getaddrinfo_and_update: ../../libvlibs/vnet_addrinfo.c....

Not more, the restore are still there ...

Did you restart services/daemons after creating the folder?

Hi Marianne,

the folder already exists. I have only restart the bprd daemon.

Do you use the Java Remote Admin Console? This can leave processes running on the Master sometimes so perhaps someone has browsed a GRT backup then left the console open or it has left orphaned processes on the Master

Down NetBackup and check for any processes still running that could be associated with NetBackup or its Java components and clear them down - or reboot to be sure of a clean start

Hi,

yes we have stopped NBU and reboot the server but the restore jobs run again and again.

All connections for browse and restore requests are logged in bprd log.

I have for example just done a test restore. Connection was logged in bprd log as follows:

12:35:50.814 [24407] <2> connected_peer: Connection from host marianne-win7, <MY-IP-address>, on non-reserved port 51301

So, you should see a Connection request from whichever server/client is initiating the restore requests.
