Custom Inventory 7 Challenge - By Customers for Customers
What: Inventory Solution team is sponsoring the Custom Inventory 7 Challenge for you to earn points by creating custom inventory scripts for Altiris Client Management and Server Management Suites 7.0.
When: The contest will run from September 1, 2009 to February 28, 2010
Where: Symantec Connect Community
- All entries will receive 100 points - 50 regular submission points plus 50 contest submission points.
- The top 3 entries for each month will receive reward points as judged by the experts
* 1st Place: 1500 points
* 2nd Place 1000 points
* 3rd Place 500 points
** Note: A minimum of 10 total entries per month are required in order to select the winners. If 10 submissions are not reached in a particular month the rewards will be awarded in the following month.

How:
1. Join this group.
2. Create your script. Before doing so, please review the following articles and documentation about Inventory Solution 7.0 Custom Inventory:

Note: Only scripts for Inventory Solution 7.x are accepted into the challenge.
3. Upload your script using the "Download" utility on the Connect site, and be sure to "tag" your script with this group (Custom Inventory Challenge).
4. Bonus points will be awarded at the end of each month.

Symantec will make these Custom Inventory scripts available as is or modified at their discretion. Symantec will not perform any Quality Assurance testing on Custom Inventory scripts made available thru the Symantec Connect. It is the responsibility of the customer to provide internal qualification of said Custom Inventory scripts prior to rolling it out into a live production environment. Any scripts found to not be functional or that are duplicates of already submitted scripts will not qualify for points.
Please report any bugs or problems associated with any Custom Inventory script downloaded from the Symantec Connect. You may report problems via the Symantec Connect portal. Please note that Symantec will not provide technical or development support for any issue reported. Symantec will utilize customer feedback during its regular maintenance of Inventory Solution product.
