• The CMDB is based off ITIL Standards.
• Features include: Discovery, Inventory, Reporting, Hardware Monitoring, basic OS Monitoring, Hardware Updates, and Hardware Configuration.
• Includes intensive reporting capabilities including detailed reporting on individual hardware components within a system.
• The majority of all Dell hardware can be managed by the Dell Management Console
• Supports Windows & Linux Operations Systems
• Agent-less Heartbeat Monitoring
• Installing the Dell Management Console on a 64-bit Windows OS or utilizing SQL 2008 for the database is not currently supported. In addition, installing the Dell Management Console on a VMWare session is not yet supported.
• The Dell Management Console will plug-in with existing CMS, AMS, or SMS NS7 consoles. The same database and console is utilized.

Maximum ASP – Server Management Suite 7
Presented by Bo Clark
Maximum ASP Manages 2500 Dell Servers and 64,000 domains in 70 countries
Maximum ASP participated in the Altiris NS7 Early Adaptor Program. Symantec sent consultants from ITS to work with Maximum ASP with their migration from 6.x to 7.0
They currently are only running about 15 servers off NS7 right now. A full migration could not take place because Symantec has not yet released all of the solutions that Maximum ASP uses to manage their environment.
Bo mentioned that Recovery Solution does not yet work with NS7
We would like to thank all that came to the group and we would like to especial like to thank Trover Solutions for hosting us all.
A very big thank you to Dell and Maximum ASP for there presentations.
