Like Forums,Articles,Blogs - create a New tab named as "New from Symantec"
In that users should be able to get the informations of new releases in Symantec and their features, issues, place to get beta.

Sometimes, it is desirable to send a reply to a particular post only to the user who make the post. It will be good to have such a button next to each post. Currently, you would have to click on his id and then send him a message. This is rather cumbersome.

There are a lot of acronyms used in the forums. These are probably familiar to the reader if they are using the features, but would be totally baffling to someone who is new or not familiar with the product/feature. Perhaps someone should develop and maintain a glossary for easy reference.

Having the possiblity to have the context menue "scan for viruses" in terminal sessions would grant more administative value for Server admins you like to scan certain files on a server.

You can open the console, go into a group, and right-click and choose to search for a computer based on name, status, IP and many other areas, but you can't search for an unmanaged detector status.
If you have 1,000 computers in a group, and an admin who was just fired had made a computer in that group an unmanaged detector, and you need to make some changes, how can you find it? You must list all computers and look for the different icon.
I'd like to see the ability to search for a computer that has been made an unmanaged detector like you can search for many other things in the console.
Or even be able to create a report on all UDs along with the configuration for each.

Here's the first page of the Management Server Upgrade Wizard, as displayed when I upgraded my SEPM from v11.0.4202.75:
The wording of the panel is a little awkward and redundant. But in particular, shouldn't it say "Upgrade Server from 11.0.4202.75?" As far back as I can recall, it has said "Upgrade Server from 11.0.2.2", which, I think, was the first version of SEP we installed.
Or if the old version is less important than the new one, have it say "Upgrade Server to 11.0.5000.333". Or if you don't want to have to write code to find the old version, and don't want to update the panel with each new version's release, just have it say "Upgrade Server to current version".
Certainly no lives are in danger if it's never fixed. But every time I see it, I always wonder if it's a harbinger of forgotten details to come!

I would like to see the Deepsight threat monitor integrated with the SEP Manager. It could be a link on the manager and run in the same Window, or else open a new window that can be resized.

We should be able to filter our own posts, and especially filter on "unanswered" ones with no solution.
This way, people may be encouraged to mark more of their posts as answered...

The notification system is only triggered when we block on a specific application rule. This trigger only happens in those scenario’s and only once per session.
There should be a way to notifiy the user each and every time it is blocked as done in home editions so that even if he misses once he will be seeing it.Now it is like once it gets it but if he misses that he will never get that popup until the next session and it makes hard, as the user does not know if it is network issues or policy which is blocking
We should defintely have an enhancement for this

I have a big problem in determining which is the exact words that I violated in content compliance policy, I think when Anti spam is filtered a content compliance violation, I highly recommend that it should be in the details, what the exact word from the attach file or from the email content that I violate so that we can easily adjust the policy

Hi,
Andy Welburn has suggested (encourage) me to create a new Idea about a new button on Forums (Mark as NO Solution).
Now I'm doing it.
What do you think?.
For Symantec Support look on forums for any matters mark as NO Solution will give them a different point of view then if they have no the solution (very unlikely because Symantec always give a solution) they willl give a better support and can improve faster in its products and stright to the customers demands.
For us (people on the forums) only with consciousness if you have the possibility to mark a situation as NO Solution, make sure you have tried all your best to get a solution.
That's the way I think it will be work.
Suggestion are opened. Please, participate.
Hope I can help.
Thank you.
Regards,
Gabriel.

Please add VxVM support for Sun Storage 7000 Unified Storage Systems. Currently this is not supported under Solaris VxVM 5.0 MP3.

I really appreciated the integration of the solved threads in the search results of our online knowledgebase [ http://www.symantec.com/business/support/overview.... ].
It would be perfect if we can integrate the Videos and Articles on forums with the knowledgebase. So if a user searches for a keyword, thats missing from the knowledgebase, we have other resources to look for.
Cheers,
Aniket

Hello
Is there a chance to have a button on each forum we are viewing to mark all posts as read??
After a long break once I return I am having a lot of these 'dots' on lef hand side near each post. I would like to mark all posts as read, to somehow start from scratch.

Hi all,
We (and a lot more people) have had a really hard time the past three years with Symantec Endpoint Protection version 11.
Almost we came to the point of switching to another vendor, but after all the suffering we had with Symantec Endpoint Protection V11, now version 12 comes out.
I have installed this at some clients right now and I am very, and I must say, very pleased with it so far.
No issue's during installation. Configuration is a breeze. Deployment went very easy using the new deployment wizard and so on.
Now the tricky part.
I have sleepless nights over all my customers that are still running ver. 11, knowing they are sitting on a time bomb to go off.
We work for SMB customers, and mostly we sold Multi Tier Protection - SBE, which is now to be replaced with Protection Suite - SBE.
Most of them have a year based contract so we will be able to upgrade them in an acceptable time frame.
But I also have a couple that bought a three year contract. What...

The list of IP address under "Administration>Configuration>SMTP>Outbound Mail Settings" should be sorted numerically as opposed to the order of entry.

Searching the Message Delivery Queue for a user's email address is case-sensitive. It will not find ALL instances of messages being held for senders who use all CAPS in the name, or all lower-case letters in the name, or a combination of both.

When viewing the Message Delivery Queue, one can only search the TO or FROM fields. It would be beneficial to be able to search the error field.

The current update method of Manager using JDB ( Manaually ) Updates only AntiVirus and AntiSpyware.
Howerver it would be good if we can have PTP and NTP updated
The JDB files should update
AntiVirus and AntiSpyware.

Customer needs to monitor Sybase DB installed on a Solaris branded zone, using Sybase enterprise agent configured with VXCluster and installed in a Solaris global zone.

When a resrouce is getting restarted when configured with RestartLimit (type level attribute).
In case if customer does not have notifier configured, does not able to get to know that the resrouce got restarted.
we can use the ResStateChange trigger, but it is a group level and have impact in failover times and consume resoruces in large configuration (like 400 resrouces).
how about have a trigger which is tied to the engine, and trigger an event when engine restarts an resrouce.

Hi
I was wondering if we can have the Point detail on the home tab itself.
