Currently the SEPM installs as a 32bit application on 64bit servers, but not all portions of the SEPM are running as 64bit applications.

32bit portions include:
SEPM Console.
ODBC connector.

64bit portions include:
IIS/Website.

While this would be ideal...

Our testing and general feedback so far shows that this is not an issue that impacts a customer's experience of using SEPM. The key component that would potentially require 64bit for very large environments is IIS or the component serving the clients and this is the case already.

Is there a specific reason you feel this is required? Please explain the actual impact of not have these components as 64bit.

I get 2-3 customers a month that ask why this is only 32bit.

Additionally it is irritating (and confusing for some customers) to have to go to the SYSWOW64 directory to configure the 32bit ODBC instead of being able to use the 64bit one from Administrative tools.

it is similar, though reversed

The customer in that thread wants to use IIS in 32bit mode on a 64bit server, which does not work.
