The ability to create a sub-layer

I wish I could create a sub-layer of an existing layer.

I have Microsoft Office in an SVS layer, the problem is that I have several applications that are plug-ins for the Excel products (like Adobe Acrobat). The problem is that if I want to virtualize the plug-in, I have update the existing layer, and then the plug-in becomes a part of the Office layer.

I wish I could instead have it be a layer underneath the main layer so that I could Activate Office and not have to Activate the plug-in.... Right now the only way to do it is to install Office into two separate layers, and then I have to update one of the layers to have the plug-in.
