Activity monitor changes

Hi All,
I think it would be a good idea to be able to filter the activity monitor on a right click and select show all jobs from this client or policy or something similar. I like the way you can click on the client from the Topology and it highlights the jobs for that client but it would be better if it filtered them out or brought them to the top so you can see them stright away rather than looking for them. We have so many jobs that scrolling down through the jobs to find the highlighted ones is a big job!
If you can do this already plase let me know I just find the filter bar a little awkward to use!
Thanks

You don't like the current filtering system?
Use it all the time, but only using the "By Example" tab, the "Advanced" is, well, too advanced for me!!
But yeah, you've got your columns sorted in the Activity Monitor as you want (I hate going to someone elses PC & using theirs), you right-click on a job that interests you for whatever reason & you're given the options to filter immediately by any of the columns that are currently available (or even all?) sounds like a good, workable idea & we could still have the ability to go into the current filtering system as an additional option.......hmmm.

Hi Andy, Thanks! I'm glad
Hi Andy,
Thanks! I'm glad someone agrees! It would certainly make my life easier and my work a bit faster :)
I know what you mean about the Advanced tab you could spend ages playing with that!
Activity Monitor is too busy
Have to agree with both statements. You would need a 3000 wide resolution monitor to attempt to try and display ALL the columns in activity monitor, and sometime you want access to the info - admittedly not all the columns. But I hate visiting someone elses PC and the colums are all 'wrong'. (aargh - LOL)
Portable version of admin console comes to mind or a thinapp version would be nice :-) theres an idea.
Capture the install of NetBackup Windows Admin Console and inject the export of all your settings for columns etc from the registry key path for NB Admin.
Actually that sounds not silly. OK the bp.conf on the master would have to have an entry for the PC running the admin console...hmm
Right click to filter on that cell content is a great idea and one I sometimes hope is there in each release. I even look for it just in case its been sneaked in.
Or I always hark bark to thinking smart queries or saved queries, that you frequently use or build. There is no way to save them, at the moment.
I use the Filter a lot but only for one row or if luck two rows of query. Pointless building anything more complex as I say its lost until you build it again.
Nice if you could have something like this also.
I guess though we are talking reports and using the NOM here, but for core administrators these would be great additions to the Admin Console - which has not seen much change in several version releases.
Tip: Get overview/document your NBU environment. Run 'nbsu' and review the output.

Some good ideas there too!

keep in mind
You can have local user bp.conf files ($HOME/bp.conf), why not store the column preferences in there ? =) It's not like they're used for too much else....

Another idea along the same line targeting the Activity Monitors columns...
