Deduplication is almost ready!

Hello everyone,

Thanks for sticking with us and your patience. Sorry we have not been very public on this forum. We have the issues worked out and now will be able to quickly respond to your Ideas and Enhancement Requests for Backup Exec.

We have reviewed this request and are happy to report that we believe we have this addressed now.

Obviously we would like your feedback on this to see if we have hit the mark or still have more work to do.

To try out the new deduplication abilities in Backup Exec, please take a few minutes to register and download the Early Adopter version of Backup Exec 2010 here www.backupexec.com/2010

Thanks for posting this Idea and please keep them coming!

BE 2010 is now released with the Deduplication Option

Hello,

BE 2010 has been officially released and now offers the Deduplication Option which has 3 different types of deduplication.

Client-side Deduplication= Deduplication done at the source where you are backing up via the Backup Exec Agent for Windows Systems
Media Server-side Deduplication= Deduplication done at the Backup Exec server to eliminate any cpu impact on the systems being protected
Appliance-side Deduplication=Deduplication done via a Deduplication Appliance from Exagrid or Quantum.

You can always evaluate the Deduplication Option (or any BE Agent or Option) for 60 days. Try it out and let us know what you think.
