Add IP subnet exclusions to WOL

KSchroeder's picture

Many of our users are mobile and use a VPN client to connect back to our network.  Consequently, they have 2 or more IP addresses (one for the onboard NIC/wireless NIC and another for the VPN connection).  We often would like to use "WOL" or "Immediately notify each computer of task" options in the Software Delivery Task.  However when reviewing the NS Log, we see a lot of errors from AeXNetComms.dll like this:
Module: AeXNetComms.dll
Source: NetworkSender::SendRelay
Description: Cannot connect to 192.168.1.67

So my Idea is to have a configuration (possibly in the "Global Altiris Agent Settings" or similar function in NS7) to define excluded subnets where WOL-type requests would not be sent, or only send to those subnets if that is the only subnet a machine has an IP in.  I suspect this would also improve connection success using Carbon Copy (or PCAnywhere, haven't tried yet) since the correct IP will be sent vs an "internal" IP subnet that is not accessible from the NS.
