Please add the ability to import User Groups from Active Directory via the AD connector in CMS 7.x.  Currently the AD connector only allows you to import Users (along with Computers, Print Queue's, Sites & Subnets.)

I agree AD groups are must.

I agree AD groups are must.  Please add AD group import ASAP, without it it's almost impossible to use this feature.  Thank you.

Groups are used as a source for node items

We have used Groups as a source for node items just like OU's are since the 5.x days, and that when a reosurce is imported you can confiured the import rule to create collections/filters of the source items.

Is that waht you are looking for?

SK.

No, we understand the

No, we understand the functionality that currently exists with the import of groups and the creation of filters.  We would like to be able to import a domain group and have it exist so that you could target MSD's or other policies at the group level.  Evaluation of the policies would then occur at logon.  This would be similar to functionality of Software Portal.  Microsoft had this functionality in SMS 2.0...

Also, not sure what triggers an update to these posts, but this was put out there on Connect since Nov of 2010.

IMHO this is must have functionality for "user rights/access inventory".
