Status: Alternative Solution

SEPM knows everything it needs to know about a client to use Wake-On-LAN to turn it on. This would be handy for a lot of admin tasks, of course. But staying on-topic, you could wake it to scan it or install a SEP upgrade, the latter being my current mission.

[Edit] And for systems with multiple subnets, SEPM should be able to use an active SEP client on each remote subnet to send the magic packet to avoid having to allow broadcasts across our VPN links.

This is an excellent idea!  Thanks Symantec for looking into this.  Since the last posting in this area was over 26 weeks ago, anyone have an update?

Thanks,
