Annotation in Brightmail Gateway
Hello,
after some test we discovered that an annotation in brightmail gateway is only a textstring without any formatting.
So you must use the HTML annotation, but only in following cases:
|
If these MIME parts are found... |
And annotations have been specified… |
Then... |
|
Text only |
Plain text only |
Plain-text annotation is added to the message |
|
Text only |
Plain text and HTML |
Plain-text annotation is added to the message; HTML annotation is not used |
|
Text and HTML |
Plain text only |
Plain-text annotation is added to the plain text part, and added to the HTML part by enclosing it in a <p> tag |
|
Text and HTML |
Plain text and HTML |
Plain-text annotation is added to the plain text part, and HTML annotation is added to the HTML part. Note: If you define an annotation in plain-text and HTML, only the HTML version will appear in the resulting email message. |
Using the Text annotation in a mail looks like a cheesy poor spammer without experience, but that is the only way to use the annotation for mails in general with brightmail.
Maybe there is the chance to have a formatting plain text annotation like other vendors using?
Thank you in advance
bye, toby

Hi Toby, An annotation in
Hi Toby,
An annotation in Plain text can be formatted by adding <br> at the end of each line.
The annnotation, as added in SBG, text will then look like:
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++<br>
Dear ....,<br>
<br>
This message contains an attachment which .....etc.....<br>
<br>
Kind regards<br>
<br>
....(salutation)...<br>
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++<br>
This works for both:
Unicode
Western European
NOTE:
The end result will also depend on the settings of the mail client (Sending and receiving client).
