I have upgraded from 10d to 12.5 and noticed the central admin server won't monitor jobs from a media server that used the SAN shared storage option.  Also, having issues getting the central admin server to see ALL job logs from other media servers.

I would like to have an app, maybe a webapp like ExecView for monitoring backup jobs....monitor only...no admin features needed.  I can do all the admin of jobs from the media server itself.  It would be nice to have a single place to check ALL my nightly backup jobs.   Seems they took a step backwards with the 12.x version.

Thanks,
Rick

Actually it was with v11, but otherwise, you hit the nail on the head

And it has been coming up regularly since ExecView 3.0 came out.  v2.6 just plain ROCKED while v3 was just so-so

If this response answers your concern, please mark it as a "solution"

We agree we need a replacement for it that is lightweight and easy to use.

What about a mobile monitoring solution for BE? Something you could run on your iPhone or Blackberry to monitor your jobs and alerts?

Would that have any interest?

If so, what features would you like to see first? What are the most critical things you would want to be able to do from a mobile monitoring app for BE?
Jobs?
Alerts?
Reports?
Devices?

Would you want iPhone first or Blackberry?

Let us know what you think.

With respect, having lost functionality... one would assume you should replace that functionality before developing a mobile silution.

Agree, having lost functionality, you should replace that functionality before developing a mobile silution. An ExecView solution for the current version of Backup Exec (v2012) woud be the correct move.....
