I recently received feedback about the name used for the scan that will look for malware in running processes, load points, and in common infected locations. In the latest releases of SEP it is called "Active Scan". In older releases of SEP it was called "Quick Scan". Please give me your feedback if you would like to see the name changed to something that is a little more descriptive of if you think the name "Active Scan" works for you.

Vote Agree if you would like to see the name changed

Vote Disagree, if you like the current name or don’t care if it changes.

If you vote Agree, propose a new name.

The name Active Scan was derived from  the what its intended malware target of "Active Threat Scan". We removed the "Threat" label since that name was already taken.

I am looking forward to your vote.

Regards,

JimW - SEP Product Manager

Active scan sounds good

Active scan sounds goods and it somewhat defines what it does.
Like scanning actively  running processes and common loadpoint from where threats can be active all the time.
However it does sound similar to File system auto-protect which does real time scan ...well even that could be confusing for new users.
Real time scan /Active scan.

I couldn't think of a good name for Active Scan but "Basic Scan" is what i can explain to new users.
