Editable Metadata Viewable in SVSAdmin or SVSCmd

I would like to see a editable metadata field in the properties of each layer. The way packagers could place application specific information into the layer viewable through SVS Admin or even through SVSCmd.exe

Examples of MetaData for Layers:
Application Versioning Information
Application Requirements
Application Descriptions
etc...

Any thoughts?
