Eject option in the device monitor

It would be better if the netbackup could add the Eject option ( For ejecting the tapes directly from the drives) in the device monitor window or the Drives tab in the activity monitor.

That is what 'Reset'

That is what 'Reset' does.

Eject option in the device monitor

we have checked many times..the reset option has never ever ejected the tape out....

Reset must be bugged for your install.

In my experience the Reset option must be run on the host that owns the tape drive for it to work reliably but I have had it work on the master server as well.  It is not immediate but from watching the logs it will send a rewind + offline command to the tape drive before telling the robot to move the tape back to the slot in the library.  When that does not work either the tape drive is having mechanical problems or the SCSI bus is hung.
