I would like to suggest the ability to recive email notification when a new post is made to forum topics, blogs and articles etc without having to post in those threads, blogs or articles.  I think this ability would be great because sometimes you want to be informed of new posts without having to contribute to the forum thread, blog or acticle or subscripting to multible rss feeds.

Subscribe to Topic

Hi BWMerlin,

Thanks for the feedback.

You can actually do this (subscribe to forum topics) now, here's how:

1) Go to your user profile page by clicking on your photo on the top-right corner of any Connect page.
2) Click the "Notifications" tab.
3) Click the "Tags" subtab.
4) Subscribe at will.

The Tags subtab lists every product and topic discussed on Connect. You can subscribe to as many (or as few) of the topics as you wish.

By the way, this "Tag" system is how Connect organizes posts (behind the scenes) into the top-level Forums you see when you browse Connect.

Hope this helps.
Kevin

Subscriptions to whole forum

I tagged "Backup and Archiving" but I'm getting notifications for all the products under there (e.g. NetBackup) when I'm only interested in Backup Exec. Is there a way to fine turn the notification to just one topic?

Cheers, Rob.

Hi Rob,

You can get the intended result by following the instructions in the previous post to subscribe to the "Backup Exec" tag in the "Products" list of tags.
