Summary:
Customer would like the ability for SEP to query and log the Windows endpoint Serial Number and Asset Number. Customer would further like a report within SEPM that can be displayed and printed which would include the Windows endpoints Serial Number, Asset Number, Machine Name, User Login and date timestamp. Endpoint Asset and Serial Numbers are unique to each customer endpoint and provided by the equipment manufacture. We have demonstrated the feasibility of accomplishing this task with a SEP Host Integrity Check. While feasible, the customer would like this data to be available for viewing and troubleshooting within the current SEPM console and without an HI Check.
- All of the below should be performed from the SEPM Console within the reports tab and Client Monitor Tab.
o Ability to view the endpoint Serial Number, Asset Number, Machine Name, User Login from a single view.
§ From the SEPM Console
· Clients Tab->View “Protection Technology” – Add the Serial Number and Asset Number fields and/or generate a separate view listing Serial Number, Asset Number, Machine Name, User Login.
o Ability to generate a report listing Serial Number, Asset Number, Machine Name, User Login.
§ From the SEPM Console
· Reports Tab->Quick Reports->Audit->new report listing the Serial Number, Asset Number, Machine Name, User Login and date timestamp.
o Ability to send Serial # / Asset ID information with AV/Spyware/IPS data in one log entry to Threat Reporter and/or SSIM. This requirement, if not capable, should not cancel the other two requirements from being completed.
