HI,
It could be better if the netbackup media can be expired by just right click on the media like free, unfreeze options.
Thanks

WAY too dangerous!! Operators
WAY too dangerous!! Operators will start expiring media with valid backups just because they're running out of media... It has to remain a manual process with confirmation required.
Supporting Storage Foundation and VCS on Unix and Windows as well as NetBackup on Unix and Windows.
Handy NBU links
You mean ...
... you wouldn't trust them to do the right thing? ;)

Expiring a media
A Netbackup administrator should know about which media should be expired and which should not.. So i am very sure that , we would not face any problems in future.....
True.
As an administrator you should know about what should be expired or not. But an operator, whose responsibility it is to make sure that there are enough tapes available for the next run of scheduled jobs, may not be so wise! ;-)
[[ It's a bit like that "Cancel All Jobs" button that's freely available to all users of the Admin Console!! ]]

Assumption is the mother of all mess ups.

Even as administrators
mistakes can be made. Its a pretty dangerous option if you ask me.
