"Feature" some random ideas

The ideas forum is intended (I believe) to allow users to suggest things like product enhancements and then have other users vote on whether it's a good idea.
However, I believe that due to lack of feedback on previous "Product Enhancement" web links, many users, myself included, are hugely sceptical on whether this isn't just another talking shop where nothing actually happens.

Since ideas also scroll out of view fairly quickly, as the numbers of postings build up. who really has the time to go through them all and see which ones are relevant or of interest. Thus as time goes by, I expect there will be duplicate suggestions.

Perhaps one way forward would be to split the ideas forum into sub-sections based on product, with an extra wild card grouping for ideas not related to a specific product. That may serve to reduce the clutter for users seeking to contribute product-specific ideas.

In addition, something that WILL help to motivate and persuade users, is some actual positive feedback to say - here are some ideas that were submitted and voted on, which we included in these products...... at these releases........

Let's face it, techies have enough demands on their time and won't be wasting it posting in an area where traditionally no feedback has ever been provided.

This is true, that's why I want to have some randomly displayed, that users get aware of such ideas.

Another improvement would be to strip out all the text on the "overview" page, and presenting it much more like the "forum", that there is space for more ideas on one page.

And you are right. Demand by the users for an idea is one thing, but I believe *EVERY* idea should be reviewed and marked by Symantec.
