I would request to push for an enhancement request to allow wild cards in IP address rules so that it makes it easy for adding Ip address in firewall.

You can already enter a range...

by putting in the first and last addresses, why add wildcards?

If i want to add the servers

If i want to add the servers which end with .50
I need to add manually all Ip address which is tedious when i have 3000 servers.
If i had wildcard i can add *.*.*.50 which makes my life more easy

At the moment, we have

At the moment, we have different options such as IP range, host and etc, and better to be specify when defining exception rather wildcard which has a possbility of unwanted behavior such as allowing a server traffic to pass thru when the initention was not.

wildcards are needed

While I agree that specifying a wildcard can potentially cause unintended security issues, NOT being able to specify wildcards require a lot more administrative overhead
