How about this?  An option to bypass the need to restore directly to an Exchange server and allowing individual messages or even mailboxes to be restored to a PST file.

Looking at this right now. Check out Backup Exec System Recovery

Hello

Great suggestion. It has been our "to do" list for a long, long, long time. We did partially implement this in Backup Exec System Recovery 2010, but it has no ability to restore back to an online Exchange Server. We sort of have 50% of the needed functionality in each product.

We will be looking at implement this feature directly in Backup Exec. You will need to have Outlook installed on the system you want us to restore (and create the .pst ) to as the target but hopefully that is not seen as any inconvenience. If it is, definitely let us know asap by replying to this thread or emailing me directly.

Other than that, let us know if you have any other suggestions for how this feature should work. Our engineers will be beginning on it shortly hopefully.

Thanks,

Peter

Hi Peter!   If Outlook is

Hi Peter!

If Outlook is really needed, please specify which version is needed, too.

Does this Outlook only has to be installed or is an connection to Exchange (Outlook profile) needed?
