Include a Vulnerability Scanner
Created: 25 May 2009 | 5 comments
Symantec Endpoint Protection is a complete protection from Threats..Firewall,IPS,SNAC,PTP,Application and device Control,Real TIme Auto-Protect scanning these features make it the best product available in the market ....If symantec could just include a Vulnerability Scanner on the SEPM..it can be of a great use..
Once we know what patches,Weak Password..or loopholes we have in our Network..It can help us a lot..
Prevention is better than cure...

many would love this
Back in the day Symantec had a program called NetRecon, it was a vulnerability scanner. Wasn't the best of the best but it did ok. I think this is of huge value. Its really the only piece missing from the SEP "toolkit"
This is probably a tall order
This is probably a tall order for Symantec, given that a lot of users complain that the product already consumes too much resources as it is. At least have SEP audit PCs to tell the admins which PCs still have unpatched OSs so that they can take necessary actions on this. Even if they don't need to use SEP to do the updates. Just the information we need.

Host Integrity
Have you evaluated the capabilities of Host Integrity? It's integrated into the code base but requires purchasing Symantec Network Access Control.
Patch Management for HI
Well yes..the HI will allow us for patch management that only for windows using patchlink,WSUS.
But what about the other vulnerabilities
