Mail Security for Domino 8.0 Check for JCE
Updated: 25 Sep 2009 | 3 comments
As the Java Cryptography Extension (JCE) is a requirement for the use of Java LiveUpdate on SMSdom 8.0 system requirements the installation of a) SMSDom or b) Java LiveUpdate should check for the JCE and a) install the JCE b) stop installation with error stating that a the requirement has not been met.
Presently there is no check for the JCE and if Java LiveUpdate is installed with out the JCE Java LiveUpdate will fail.

Mail Security for domino 8.0 Check JCE
Hi
I am trying to install SMSDOM8.0.6 on a Windows 2003 server with Lotus domino R8.5.2
When I try to install with MSI in /Q mode the installation is comming with error that the JCE 1.4 is not installed on the system.
Because of the server OS is runningSEP11 I the Liveupdate should no be installed.
I have tried to find how to disable the JCE or JLU installation but can't find anything.
Are you able to give me some information?
Thanks in advance
Brgds

There are no switches to not install JLU during a quiet install. You have to go through an interactive install to uncheck the option to install it.
You should really be installing 8.0.8 since that's the latest build and so far is very stable.
Hi thanks for your
Hi
thanks for your answer.
This release I have been recommended from your support site to install and later upgrade to 8.0.8.
I need to install on 200+ servers and installation is needed to be automatic without any interactions from user or administrators.
Please I can't be the first with this request.
Do you know what causes the JRE error in the silent mode which is not occuring when install in interactive mode.
Thanks in advance
