This idea is a little different than the one I posted before called "Malicious Software Removal Tool" which is a bit simpler.

What I mean with "Malicious Software Removal Toolkit" is a collection of tools that toghether can deal with anykind of threat that is stuck on your computer.
Today you can get rid of viruses with a combination of numerous softwares, scripts or manual instructions or in worst case reimage the computer.
A lot of these removal tools and scripts comes from other vendors or computer specialists that are outside of the Symantec world.

As a Symantec customer I am expecting to get these tools and instructions from Symantec and that is why I am posting this idea.

The idea is to have a collection of tools that would facilitate the removal of malicious software without
being forced to go to other vendors to pull this off.

I support this idea !

Well , this's a good idea I would say. There're lots of tools available on the web [free of cost]for removing malwares and advance malware analysis.[especially from Symantec competitors.I'm sure that Symantec tools engineering group have the potential of creating such tools infact better than them.ESUG tool is a good example of that.

The current requirement of the moment is tools *like*  ice sword, hijackthis and sysinternal suite etc. They come under the 'malware analysis tools' catagory rather than  'malware removal tools'.I'm sure if Symantec releases such tool it'll be highly appreciated by customers  and gain high popularity on the web.

.

Probably an ISO image to burn to a CD to make it bootable and have all the removal tools by symantec. Sort of like a rescue CD.

I am a senior infosec

I am a senior infosec professional who uses multiple Symantec tools in both the office and at home.  I agree that this is something I would expect Symantec to provide as part of their AV suites, both home and professional.  I'm sure many users and firms have no need, but when it is needed, this would be a very good option to have.  I also believe that with some appropriate training, a toolkit like this might be a strong extension of Symantec's service offereings.

This need is very real.  I would like to be able to create a Live image on USB, which would allow simple updating.  At this late date, creating and supporting this sort of live image is trivially simple.

PLEASE provide this solution!

It would be nice to have

It would be nice to have something like Malware Bytes, you run and it always detects the threats. It download the latest definitions. In SEP you need to manually download the latest emergency definition, quarantine files, etc

this is a great idea!

We pay for Symantec but get told to run FREE Antimalwarebytes to get rid of malware.  I can run the Enterprise scan and it finds nothing - we are updated constantly.  The same machine gets infected regularly and only Malwarebytes finds the offending file.
Symantec should provide a simple to use solution to get rid of these things or to stop them from ever getting into our protected computers.  Thanks

Yes, It it a Good Idea &

Yes, It it a Good Idea & suggestion to Symantec.
They should be in-corporated in their software & if any body has found something & Symantec fill that is good then they should update that & when customer get live update or any changes from Symantec then that utility or program should be updated. so in this way all customer will be having updated tool.

Thanks
Shri !!
