I'd like to be able to force a full scan on any USB device plugged in, preferebly disabling access until scan complete.

I appreciate that many people say this is unnecessary, for a whole variety of reasons, but for various regulatory and contractual reasons, we would find this option very beneficial.
I think the option should be OFF by default, but available if people like me need it.

You can force windows to enumerate all files on a USB drive when it is inserted. This will force AutoProtect to scan the drive, as the files are being accessed.

I take it from the lack of response that you don't know how to force windows to enumerate all files on a USB drive?

Therefore my original requests stands.

although this doesn't address the specific requirement, it might be acceptable - if I could figure out how to do it??
Any chance you could impart that info?

This proposed Idea looks like it corresponds to this earlier enhancement request:

Automatically on-demand AV/AS scan USB devices when plugged in (https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/idea/autom...)

Voters for this thread may wish to add your weight to this existing idea!

With thanks and best regards,
