Option to pause a backup

The title says it all. Where it can be done have an option to pause the backup. Maybe I want to restart the server and dont want to wait a few days for the backup to finish but the backup is also far enough along to where I dont want to cancel the job.
Click pause and it finishes backup up the current file and then waits for resume to be pressed and then it goes from there. Desktop backup solutions have this lets get some into the enterprise world.

I don't think this is a practical idea. Suppose you have 100 files and you pause the backup after backing up 50 files, when you come back later to continue the backup, how do you know that any of the first 50 files has not been changed? Also, there is a problem with consistency. Suppose an application uses a couple of files. You may back up some files at one instant and some at a later instant, resulting in inconsistent data.

I'd love an option to Pause,
I don't think the previous comments are valid, All those issues exist in a current backup anyway, Some of our backups take quite some time, Files will change/be created during that peroid regardless of a backup being paused or not, during the course of a backup job.
Besides, there's some options you can include to run this how you'd like, for example backup all files in a folder, the backup would already know what files it's backed up before it begins and so can resume backing up the rest of them. Alternatively you can build a file list of what is contained in a folder at the beginning of a backup and resume from this list when it's started again.
Typically I only see Pausing being mostly short term, it'd be useful if you needed to run another job quickly on the device, or as the original poster suggested if you needed to reboot the machine quickly or many other scenarios it would be useful for.
You would notice that BE
You would notice that BE takes a snapshot of the disk before backing it up. This is how BE maintains consistency. This snapshot would be destroyed by a re-boot.
Short term is a relative thing. To one person, 1 hour is short term, to another 3 hours is short term and so on.
